Cranberry Chocolate Chunk Cookies (My Sister's Favorite)


1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

5 squares of semi sweet chocolate

3/4 cup dried cranberries

3/4 cup unsalted butter at room temperature

1.2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 egg lightly beaten

1 Tbsp lemon juice

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup rolled oats



  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease or line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, stir flour with baking soda, salt and cinnamon until blended.
  • Coarsely chop the chocolate and place it in another bowl with the cranberries.
  • In a large bowl, stir butter with a wooden spoon until creamy. Gradually stir in granulated and brown sugars until blended.
  • Stir in the egg, lemon juice and vanilla until well combined.
  • Gradually stir in flour mixture and oatmeal until mixed well.
  • Stir in chocolate and cranberries until evenly distributed.
  • Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls at least 1 inch apart on prepared baking sheets. Bake in center of the oven until edges are golden and the centers seems set when lightly touched - about 13 minutes.
